I'm waiting for my Thermomix to arrive
« on: May 28, 2012, 11:23:45 am »
 :)
I am very excited. I have been begging (literally) my husband for a Thermomix for 9 months and he finally gave into the pressure of it all and agreed. I am expecting my Thermomix any day. BUT, now I am scared! Any suggestions for quick, easy meals that I can get going with to prove to my husband that it is not a complete waste of money!

I know that once I produce some yummy dishes in no time without having to use very pot and pan in the house, that my husnad will be pleased. He doesn't like change and at this present time, he is very unsure about the Thermomix! I am SOOOOO going to prove him wrong..  ;D

Welcome to the forum Merlinmule, what types of foods does your DH love ? Best to work on meals he loves first to win him over :)
My DH loves most foods so he's easy to please. I love when the family comment on how good a meals was.

Hi, and welcome Merlinmule.
There are so many recipes on this forum that are all yummy.
But what won my DH over to how good TC is was seeing me make a whole meal in it.
The Chicken with Cashews is a yummy meal to show it off.   http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=5335.105

Welcome.  :D
I agree, work on him with what you know he likes then move on to different things once you have won him over! You will seriously love your new kitchen helper!  :D

Hello Merlinmule, welcome to the forum.  What are your DH's favourite meals - we can give you a few suggestions once you let us know the answer to that one.  Perhaps have a browse of CP's favourite list so far as the recipes on her list are some of the best - something might jump out at you.

My DH gave me the nicest compliment yesterday.  He hasn't been eating at all well but just lately his appetite has improved and he is eating 3 decent meals a day.  I commented on how good his appetite was at the moment and he said that's because the food is so good.  It is not the reason, he is obviously feeling quite good at the moment but I accepted that and was pleased with his comment.
Hopefully your husband will think the same way when you start serving up TMX cooked meals to him.

Hi and welcome to the Forum. I have found everyone here so very helpful and it is a treasure trove of fantastic recipes. I've only had my TMX for a few months myself but can see the value in it. I agree with Judy re CP's favourite recipes so far. If he likes, Thai/spicy, I would highly recommend Gretchen's Thai Fish Cakes and Thai chilli basil chicken (or something along those lines) by Nico M.

Good luck and enjoy your new journey  :)

Hi & welcome to the forum! I'm sure it won't take long before your husband sees the benefit of having a Thermomix.

Does he cook? If so, get him using it also so he can see first-hand how wonderful it is. My OH loves using our Thermie.
