Flower Biscuits (with photo)
« on: November 17, 2010, 08:12:38 am »

Flower Biscuits

Ingredients
150g sugar
400g flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
150g sunflower oil

Coating
100g dark chocolate
Colored sprinkles

Preparation
    * Pulverize sugar for 20 seconds on Speed 10
    * Sift in flour, add baking powder, vanilla, oil and eggs. Knead for 1 minute
    * Mix for 1 minute on Speed 4-5
    * Flour the surface where you will work. Place the dough. Let it rest for 5 minutes
    * Roll out with a rolling pin on the floured surface (it'd stick otherwise) around 3-5mm thick.
    * Cut with flower shaped cookie cutter. Place them in oven tray that is covered with baking paper (I got 2 trays full)
    * Bake in preheated oven at 175°C for 15-20 minutes.
    * Let them cool

    * Melt chocolate using bain-marie method
    * Spread some chocolate in the center of flower biscuits and sprinkle with some decorations
    * Let chocolate solidify before you serve

Afiyet olsun....

Ohh im silly  :-)) I thought it was some recipe for Bisquits with flowers in it. Anyway they look nice as all your recipes usually does.
And i guess you can call them healthy as you use oil instead of butter which i usually would use to make bisquits.

If someday I happen to make some biscuits with flowers I will let you know bluesed :)
By the way thanks for your compliments about the recipes I sent ;)
When it comes to biscuits or cookies I usually have recipes with butter as you said. In fact, even if I prefer butter, many times I try to use one of those no-cholesterol margarine because me and my husband have high cholesterol levels unfortunately  :'(
Even though there we use sunflower oil here which is sure healthier this doesn't make them lighter as calories considering that we use 150g!! God! Why everything that tastes nice has to have so many calories  ???  ;D

I made these today and the mix was VERY oily.  Is this how it's supposed to be?
