Gluten Free gift basket - ideas needed!
« on: September 11, 2012, 08:42:48 am »
I'd like to put together a gift basket for a friend who's leaving work next week - it all needs to be gluten free

Two things I've found this afternoon are Tenina's Almond, Tangelo and Blueberry Tarts and possibly her Almond Mound Bars

and a Banana Bread from the Healthy Chef

Maybe some jam, lemon butter, etc.

Brain has come to a standstill.  Any ideas would be really appreciated!

I think the Magic Bean Cake is gluten free - also the almond and mandarine cake.  Both are easy to make and very tasty.  The second cake could probably be just as easily made using oranges seeing as the mandarine season is nearly over.

Thank you so much, Cuilidh!!  Have made both of these but my brain went into shutdown mode today and couldn't even bring them to mind.  An excellent suggestion and I do appreciate it.  Thank you!

GF I just made the chocolate cupcakes from the healthy chef today and they are so delicious, almost fudgy.

Go for Amy's chocolate brownies - delicious - her house mates had them for breaky.
Also try the peanut butter bread.

How about milo http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=3078.0 . I make it for a GF friend as she can't have the regular one. She also uses it to make biscuits.
I've also posted a couple of GF recipes- I have just won a prize in the Royal show for this one http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=8607.0
Or the raspberry brownies are good too http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=10631.0.
I've also made these crackers which are really good http://www.superkitchenmachine.com/2010/7573/quick-easy-gluten-free-cracker-recipe.html

These crackers always go down a treat with my coeliac friends. I sprinkle sesame seeds on top when I roll them to make them look pretty!
