Steamed Tilapia with soy/ginger sauce - some advice needed
« on: September 27, 2012, 07:39:06 am »

A friend has just called me wanting to do this dish tonight . . but was wondering the best way to do it in the varoma . . .My thoughts were to just use a shallow oval baking dish perhaps on chopsticks or similar to allow more steam up.  she asked whether it's best to use the bottom part of the varoma or the more shallow tray . .. and at what speed  (varoma' speed 3-4 I think?)

I've cooked fish in the varoma but not with a sauce like this . . .Any ideas very much appreciated - and then it can be a collective conversion to put on here . . ;D ;D

what about crumpling up some baking paper and wet it to line the bottom of the varoma

Jo has done that while making omlettes in the varoma and it works..

Thanks Obbie - that was quick!!0  That's an excellent idea - I'd forgotten about that.  I've passed on that suggestion to my friends - they'll cook it that way and let me know a little later how it goes.  Thanks again.
