Bread Question
« on: November 11, 2012, 02:16:49 am »
Hi all. I am sure one of you clever ladies will have the answer to my query.
We are having a big family bbq here next Sunday for DH's birthday and I would like to make little bread rolls to have with the meal.
I want to get as much organized as I can the day before so what I would like to know is is it possible to make the rolls the day before to the first proofing and then shape them and leave them in the fridge until the next day then take them out in the morning let them rise and then cook them.
I will be using chookies no fuss roll recipe.
Thanks for any ideas.

Should be OK,  but you could make the rolls and cook them the day before and  Put them on a plastic bag when cool.  Next day place on tray and spray with plenty of water and place in hot oven 5/10 mins.   Just like freshly baked.  The only problem with this is that they go stale quickly,  so these rolls will not be good the following day.

Thanks chookie I think I will do as you say then that will be one more item off the list.  No worries about them going stale as there will be plenty of people to eat them on the day.
