As a matter of fact, Judy, I made tonight's dessert in my thermal pot. Tau Foo Fa - a pudding made from soya milk.

Cookie, soya milk and water. The coagulant used here is Glucono Delta Lactone.

Forgot to add: once the pudding is set, it is served with syrup. I prefer syrup made from palm sugar. Some folks prefer plain syrup.

Thanks. It looked like a syrup to me. I have never heard of the coagulant before.

I just got the Aldi catalogue and they have a thermal cooker next week. From those who use them are they fairly interchangeable with slow cookers?

This is sort of like the Dream Pot, except the Dream Pot cannot be connected to electricity at all.

I have the Aldi thermo cooker, I love it, I have lent it to a friend to try , I think it cooks the meat nicer than my slow cooker.

Would it be interchangeable with a slow cooker? I've been thinking of buying a slow cooker but thinking this with the two different inserts might be better.

I have a dreampot. The difference Wonder is that you can just throw everything into the crockpot and turn it on. With the thermal cookers you need to bring them up to temperature on the stovetop first and cook for about 15 minutes depending on what it is you are cooking and then put it in the thermal container and it finishes off cooking.
