Using Thermomix with adapter
« on: September 07, 2009, 07:56:55 pm »
Hello everyone,

My name is David. I'm a Spaniard living in Austin, TX. I live by myself and have considered buying the Thermomix for some time, as I'm not a good cook.

As you may know, the Thermomix is very well-known in Spain. I've been doing some research on the compatibility of the Thermomix here in the States through this forum and other websites, and have found out that there's some sellers of the TM31 in Mexico and Canada, who offer that model with compatibility under the US electric system. However, those sellers don't accept American Express or monthly payments, which are the two methods that would best fit me to pay for it, and also I could get it cheaper in Spain.

I've seen that there's plenty of 110v to 220v (and vice versa) voltage adapters over there. My question is: if I get the TM31 in Spain, will I be able to use it here in Texas with an adapter like that trouble-free?

Thank you!

Not sure - you may wish to try contacting Vorwerk in Spain ( habla espanol?) - the head had a restaurant in NewYork.

Or maybe try contacting Ximena Maier at lobstersquad http://lobstersquad.blogspot.com - I think one of her aunts is in Florida from memory?  She may know.

Tenina at Thermomix tenina@thermomix.com.au has spent time in Houston and may be helpful too.

Am I dreaming...did I see a new question on this topic last night? I can't seem to find it again now. I am very interested in the response as we will also be relocating from Australia to the US and want to take our TMX with us.
