OOps. ES, I posted a similar cake several months back.  Sorry hadn't realised that you had already posted  one.  I think I like your idea of walnuts sprinkled on top. Thanks for the recipe.

I made this yesterday afternoon to take to my evening class last night.It was a hit with everyone.Thanks Sue :-* it's a great recipe. ;)

I made this cake again yesterday to take to my upholstery class today.Everyone raved over it and I sent copies of the recipe to all of them. On behalf of my upholstery friends they say thank you Sue for sharing a great recipe. :-*

I'm glad you all enjoyed it. My mum didn't bake cakes very often, but used to make this for special occasions.
