One time the winner on "Come Dine with Me" was a dumpster diver. She told everyone what the seconds were, and they were very hesitant but there you go she ended up winning. Things are pretty bad if you are given something (or you take it from a bin) and the person who disposed of it has to maintain responsibility - especially for a cow when the farmer should have been more vigilant. What has the world come to?

I couldnt do it however like jd if my family was starving i think i would but circumstances are that i have no need too thank goodness..to be honest if our families were starving i think we would o alot worse than dumpster dive lol... I do however buy meat on special always checking use by dates though!!

Is such a shame that liability over rides common generosity these days :(. There would be o many ppl in need of food or charity kitchens etc.. Such a waste..

Gert there are a handful of french chefs who pride thselves on using every edible part of a plant on the plate and are very good at it.. About a year before i left it was starting to become part of challenges on local cooking shows etc... I think its great.. No waste and creating new flavours..

Perhaps the supermarkets should be putting this produce in shopping trolleys and make it available to folk that are struggling without the need to be jumping inside a bin.

I know there are legal issues and it's such a shame that so much food goes to waste and there are people that are hungry.  :(
