Thermomat - where can i buy one from?
« on: May 25, 2011, 09:23:09 am »
hi all.

I see that in Australia the thermomat comes as part of the package, whilst it does not here in the UK.

I see that it's useful for baking, and also for wrapping dough to allow to rise. Alternatively, is a "simple" silicone baking mat the same...minus the ability to fold/wrap around dough?

Where can i buy a thermomat from, and at what price please?

Peleep they aren't part of the package here in Australia, you can only buy them from Consultants or Head Office here.

From my knowledge they are an Aussie item that Grace (owner of TMX in Oz & NZ) has commissioned.

In answer to your question as long as it is a quality silicone mat (and flexible to allow you to wrap the dough) then in my opinion it would suffice.

Thermomats are Au$60.00

I think the original thermomats come from france. You can def get ones from the US (ebay) quite cheaply. Just can't think of the name/keywords.
But yes it's just a flexible silicone mat. The thermomix oz ones are quite large.

Love all the measurements on that one CC

Oops I wasn't quite clear - the thermomats are an TMX Oz item not Vorwerk, so not worldwide through TMX distributors lol. I think they may even come from France and TMX Oz has them branded - much like our Thermoservers :)

The first one I got was made by Silpat or something, and I think they possibly are available worldwide

Folks, is the thermomat useful for making breads? What is the size of the mat?

Yes they are handy BZB but any silicon mat would do the job.  The TMX one measures 38 x 58 cm.

Hi cecilia

Do you still have some thermomats? Or is it easier to get from head office.

Welcome to the forum Rellee.

Where are you from? Perhaps you would like to go to 'introduce yourself' and tell us about your thermomix story.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.
