Judy, we used to go to Fitzroy St or Acland for Fish and chips every Sunday when we were kids and then eat them down at the marina. Sometimes we got to look in the cake shops but don't remember being allowed to buy anything very often. I'm sure the cakes were expensive for all 8 of us! Most of the same cake shops are still there and the cakes look the same as what I remember. These days we've bought a few things but not really being a sweets eater I'm generally happy to pass on most of them.

They could go or a walk down Lygon St where all the real life Underbelly figures used to congregate and shoot each other. Then there's also the Melbourne gaol which is quite interesting. The memorial in the botanical gardens. Shopping in Chapel Street.

My DD and SIL have a comic shop in Chapel Street, Windsor if they are into that sort of thing.

They all lived near Nannas house. Carl Williams funeral was at the same church as Nannas funeral.

Thank you everyone for all your advice. Yesterday they went on the free tram and covered Victoria Markets and the Museum finishing off with a lovely dinner at a restaurant and dessert at the Lindt place. Today, Chapel street and a movie in Collins Street. They are having a nice time.
