Enforced Break from Cooking
«

Hi - my name is Fiona and I am a mother of 3 teenage daughters, 2 of whom are chefs, and we all love to cook. Today I stripped the bearings on the blades of my 7 month old Thermomix.
The lovely people from head office are sending me new blades, but I probably won't get them till next week.
I have been cooking like a mad woman, ever since my thermomix arrived, but haven't been very organised, and am just grabbing recipes from all over the place. I am going to use this enforced hiatus to do a bit of research and get a little bit more order into my kitchen, so I thought here would be a good place to start.

Hi Fiona. You must be devastated not having your thermomix for a while. I don't think I would know what do with myself.

Hi Fiona, welcome to the forum. There is so much to read and cook on here that you probably won't need to go too much further

I am devestated!! Just cooking a pie for dinner, and there are pots and saucepans all over the place - I am exhausted, tired an grumpy now.
I could not go back to this way of cooking. The kitchen looks like a bomb hit it from one meal.
I cook all our bread, quirky's butter, almond milk, school lunches ( shredded chicken, wraps, scrolls etc), jams, sauces, LOTS of desserts, and had just taken to cooking whole chickens with gusto.
I got Alyce Alexandra's new book yesterday, and lucky I still have some cheats sourdough and fruit loaf to sustain us, and a big bowl of chicken and pumpkin couscous salad also was made before it's untimely demise
I am also expecting the I Love Chocolate, I Love Thermomix book any day - oh well my waistline will appreciate the break.
Thanks for making me feel so welcome.

Fiona, it really pays to have a second bowl at times like this - it might be worth the investment

Welcome Fiona!
What did you mean by stripped bearings? Made me nervous reading that. I need my TMX everyday!

Hi Fiona and welcome. So sorry about your blades. Not nice but easy fixed . It might help others to avoid this problem if you could tell us how this happened.
Hope the new blades fly your way.
