Taste Tandoori help?
« on: September 11, 2013, 03:38:26 am »
I have posted my question there, but all the ingredients are in the blender and need a quick reply if possible

As I am still learning, doesn't this need to be ground first before cooked?

Thank you!

Here's the Tandoori mix for you.
2 cloves garlic
2 chillies (I only use 1)
1 onion
2 tablespoons olive oil
1cm fresh ginger, peeled
juice 1 lime
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon ground coriander
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
cayenne to taste
pinch each of sumac and saffron
2 tablespoons paprika for colour
2 tablespoons tumeric
70g tomato paste
100g greek yogurt

Place all ingredients into bowl and saute 3 minutes at 100 degrees on speed 3. Leave to cool.
Add yoghurt and cook for 2 minutes on 100 on speed 1.

This in then ready to be used on chicken. I don't use it all in one go, and keep the rest in the fridge. I try to use the leftovers within a couple of weeks.

Cookie has the recipe on our forum MDU http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=802.0 and there are a few comments there.  No-one has asked any questions about chopping so I would say that speed 3 probably chops everything enough to make the paste anyway.

WHEW and thank you Judydawn. I will now proceed and thought perhaps the same thing too; my consultant was unavailable today and I GREATLY appreciate the prompt replies and your vote of reassurance too!

Will let you know how I go! Thank you!

Cheers! Joanne
