Thanks for that comment Yvette - it saves me from trying that recipe myself  :D

I have made one with grated potato as a base but have no idea where that recipe has gone.

I do love cauliflower but I'll wait to see if anyone else tries/has tried it first.

This is Jamberie's recipe for a base.  See her photos & recipe plus sauce here

Name of Recipe:     Fluffy Pizza Bases (with hard crust)

Number of People:  Approximately 3 x 30cm pizza bases

Ingredients:

Fluffy Pizza Bases:
  2tsp dry yeast
  1/2 tsp salt
420g baker's flour (although I'm told plain flour is ok too)
  10g olive oil
  250g warm water

Preparation:

Put all ingredients in TMX (preferably in the order listed) and knead 2minutes/

Place in a greased bowl and cover with clingwrap and place in a warm (draught free) place until doubled in size (in my climate I find the car is a good place!)

Divide the dough into 3 portions and roll out each one on a floured surface.

Top with your favourite toppings and cook using your preferred method (pizza oven, regular oven, bbq, etc).

Up until now I have been using store bought pizza bases as I do not have spare space to make the bases most of the time.  However, yesterday I had the chance to make my base and chose to use the one on video on Helene's site.  With just that wee tang of lovely fresh garlic and rosemary it really gave the pizza a boost.  DH loved it and was trying his hand at tossing his pizza base instead of shaping it on the bench.  Fortunately, it neither hit the ceiling nor fell on the floor, but he did have some interesting shapes.  He was loving every minute.  We had pizza last night and he hinted heavily that, really, we should have the same base and make pizzas again tonight.  I am now 'pizza'd out' - but it was great to see the boyish enjoyment on his face as he was tossing his base around.  Worth the mess!

Marina, that is lovely.  My DH was spending a lot of time hanging around the kitchen when it was hot, so I got him working. Trouble is he makes an awful mess, and tries all the 'cheffy'things he sees on tv and lots fail. However he enjoyed himself so I didn't say a word. I know that as soon as it is cool enough he will be outside in his shed and working on the car again.
