Cooking for one
« on: December 17, 2013, 01:21:00 pm »
I am a thermomix newbie and am looking for some quick dinner and dessert fixes / pick-me-ups for 1 person.
The healthier the better !!  Most recipes I have stumbled across make too many portions.  Alternatively is there much advice on how to halve or quarter recipes??

Hi luxypie, welcome to the forum.  Not many recipes around for 1 but I have compiled a list of recipes for 2 or 3 if you'd like to check that out.  I find it not worth cooking a meal that only serves 1 person and sometimes 4 serves is just too much too but if you halve recipes you'll have   one for the freezer or leftovers to make pies for example.

Just remembered the cooking class I went to a while back.  This lady has recipes for cooking for 1, you might be interested in having a look at her recipes too.

Welcome Lucypie. It must be hard cooking for one. I guess you have to make use of your freezer quite a lot.

Welcome, Lucypie.  Thermomix in Australia is bringing our a book on the theme of cooking for 1 or 2 early in 2014.  I should imagine it will be released at Thermofest, which is March.

In the meantime, you'll find plenty of good things on Judy's lists.

Look in your TM Manual and you can see how to adjust recipes too.  Good luck!  :)

The book is written by the person whose link is given 'cookingjust4me' but I was asked not to mention it on the forum by both HO and the author ;)  Now it's out there, what the heck  ;D

You didn't bring it up Judy, Cecilia beat you. It is good to know that the person writing the book actually has the experience of what she is writing about.
