Welcome to the forum, Laura.  If it wasn't for the wonderfully open and helpful people on this forum I wouldn't be using my TMX nearly as much as I do.  Always feel free to ask questions and you will usually get several replies and suggestions fairly quickly.

I'm so excited, my demo is in just 2 hours. Not sure what to expect exactly, but I really can't wait to see what this TM can do in person!

I asked the consultant how long I would have to wait for delivery if I decided to purchase, and she said "oh, about 15 minutes?" Lol

Obviously my demo went well, in fact even better than I expected!  It was just me and a good girlfriend who is enthusiastic but has ZERO cooking experience.  I was very curious on her opinion of the TM.

Monika arrived and started things off with a lemon drink with parsley cloves and ginger which was lovely.  Following that we tried an avocado and cheese spread which was very nice and I would absolutely make and serve to guests.

And then she made the most delicious cauliflower salad!  I don't even really like cauliflower but this was one of the tastiest things I've ever eaten.  (Thank goodness she emailed me the recipes after!) Perfect for work lunches, to bring to a BBQ.  Yum!

And then she showed off the Varoma with a lovely chicken dish, with sweet potatoes in the basket and steamed fresh veggies on the top tray.  That's when my friend really started to take interest, since it seems so simple and wonderful to be able to come home from work, set your dinner and then go have a shower or throw a load of laundry in or just to kick up your feet and watch the news.

Monika really emphasized fresh and healthy foods, which was perfect for me.   I was thrilled to be able to say "heck yes" and sign on the dotted line!

My friend, although interested, isn't quite ready to make such a big investment.  I honestly didn't expect her to even consider it, but I think she's going to have a demo at her place for her and her husband, and Monika said I could come too and she'd teach us even more of her amazing healthy recipes!!

Now time to get cooking!!!  I need to get groceries first I think!

Excellent result Laura, you were so lucky to be able to buy it on the spot.  Do keep us informed as to what you're cooking and how things are going.

I know, the consultant had 4 of them in the back of her van.  I seriously hope her van never gets stolen, yikes!!

I am pleased to report that I am sitting down to eat a bowl of delicious soup I made in my new TM!  I have heard that advice that at first it's better to stick with the recipes until you get the methods down, but before I get groceries I was kind of limited with what I had, plus I don't eat gluten so couldn't use a couple of recipes I found online.  So I sort of modified a few recipes I found and came up with....drumroll....potato leek bacon and goat cheese soup.  Just delish!!!

Thanks so much everyone. I don't know a single soul other than my consultant who has a TM so I know I'll be on this board a lot with questions and hopefully to share some successes!

Hi Laura and welcome. So glad you found Helene's blog. I am originally from Syracuse and know Toronto well.

My daughter has Crohn's disease and finds her Thermomix invaluable. You will be using it every day for sure. Good saving and good purchase.
