New seal and blade
« on: April 04, 2014, 08:12:36 am »
I cant beleve the difference this has made to my machine. I think that as the seal wears the bowl fit got a little sloppy.  It is certainly a tighter fit now and with a new  blade it dices my onions finer and more even again.  I thought it was working ok until it had its birthday!

Just when they begin to leak I would think Denise.

I hadnt done anything liquidy recently but now soup weather i made a ministrone and it leaked. But it makes a difference to how snug it fits which i think makes a difference to the gap under the blade which I think is why my blade died. Especially grating cheese!
Does it make sense to anyone who knows?  My new seal clicks in again.
Just putting it out there, much cheaper changing a seal than a blade.

What were you doing when your blade died, Denise?

It didnt die fast, it seemed to be inefficient the last few time, makes a whirring noise then starts working.  I am suspecting it is grating cheese.  I chop it into chunks but the lower blade gets caught.
