Hello from chilly Tasmania!
« on: July 14, 2009, 12:41:38 pm »
Hello!
My name is Narelle and I am very close to ordering a TM.   ;D  Very excited.
I have been drooling and went to a cooking class last night and YUM.  Curries.  Was great.  I sat next to Chelsea.  Hello!   :)

I think I finally have DH convinced and almost getting excited.  He asked me tonight when i was getting it, so that's a good sign.

We have 2 young girls, 5 and 3.  I am a nurse just working casual at the moment, studying and we have our own business.

One of the big appeals for me is to reduce the intake of additives and preservatives.  I also love custard of any variety!  I was thinking about the cooking class last night and there was very little added fat, a bit of oil here and there.  The flavours were so fresh and amazing.

So I look forward to picking brains once my TM arrives.  I think I need to start a list of must do's for when it arrives.

cheers
Narelle

Hi Narelle, welcome to the forum from chilly Adelaide!  Hope you get your TMX soon, obviously not much negativity from your DH so hop in and order it before he changes his mind  ;) ;)

Hi Narelle,

Am so glad that you have joined the forum - it's wonderful!!  I was only thinking about you earlier and hoping that your convincing of DH was going well and that you were going to order soon.  We did our grocery shopping today (my two little boys are great helpers - NOT!!!) and there wasn't a single preservative, colourant or additive in my trolley - hooray!  You won't look back!!!

Chelsea  :)

P.S - It is chilly tonight down here in Tassie - a big frost tomorrow I'm tipping.  If only you had your thermie already, you would be whipping up some delicious hot chocolate  ;D

Hi Chelsea
yes it is cold tonight.  I am about to hop in to bed - electric blanket is waiting!
Yes I think DH has accepted it now - I must order it and book the delivery demo.  Need one NOW lol.  I've been trolling the forum looking at recipes.
cheers and see you at the next class!

Gidday and welcome Narelle - from an excited Hubby!  The hardest part of my whole TM experience was waiting for it to arrive after I had ordered.   One of the main reasons I wanted to have theTM31 was for the nutritional benefits of controlling what goes into my food.   It's fun to use and my kids get involved too.

Cheers :D

Thanks for the warm welcome.

I'm a little frustrated tonight - I spent all arvo in the kitchen for very little to show for it.  Tonnes of washing up.  I've made a list of all the things I could have done in the TM, saving myself hours I reckon.  So I feel really annoyed!  LOL kinda funny.

Welcome Narelle to the wonderful land of Thermomix! The fab thing about the recipes and making everything yourself is that you can adapt everything to your own needs....you can make the recipes with less fat, less sugar, less flour. I am on a diet at the moment, so I can make lush recipes in my THX with no fat, but ALL the flavour! Yesterday I made a Bechamel sauce with no flour, a splash of olive oil and skimmed milk, it was delicious! This forum is wonderful too, as there are so many experts on here willing to help you make the adjustments to the recipes to help you! You won't be disappointed!
