Thanks all. My starter is looking much better as I did think it had too much water, so I've not been adding any. Got a loaf rising now, free form, so hope it doesn't spread all over the tray while it's proving! I couldn't finish it off this morning, so it's been the first prove was over 24 hours. It's pretty cool here, so should be fine - fingers crossed!
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.
