hi only had my thermomix for a week and loving it BUT attempted the sponge cake recipe in the Basic cook book for the TM5 and, well, it was more of a pancake ;( would appreciate some good choc cake recipes please
) x

Welcome zumba angel.
The Chocolate recipe is
ILB Chocolate Cake.
Members have had numerous success with it.
Another tried and tested recipe is
Nigella's Choc chip muffins
.
More Brownies
another recipe to try.

Welcome to the forum ZA, someone will be on to give you a few hints with sponge making, I don't make many cakes but I've never had a failure with any and I'm one of those people who just throw everything in

for something different try
Magic Bean Cake
Have a read of the reviews, they're enough to convince you these 2 are worth a try too and for the sponge,
Bron's Easy Lemon Sponge
recipe has a lot of good reviews, maybe it's worth a go.

Looking at the pic in the book it doesn't look like a particularly high sponge. Each half only looks about an inch high. When whipping the egg whites they definitely need yo be at room temp before starting.
