Thermomix 31 Timer
« on: October 02, 2014, 08:27:55 pm »
Hi,

My Thermomix 31 timer will not shut off. After the allotted cooking time, the alarm sounds until I turn off the mixing action. I read online somewhere that the alarm is supposed to turn off after 15 min. I've asked my consultant over email 2x about this with no response. Can anyone give me a definitive answer?

I supposed I can put a timer inline and have the power cutoff after a while but I'd like to know if there's a way to silence the alarm on its own.

Hi Dean, I'm always around somewhere when cooking so I have  never left it that long before turning off the timer, I didn't even know that it is supposed to turn of after 15 mins.  The separate timer sounds the way to go.  Sorry not much use to you  >:(

Hi dean, welcome to the forum.  How long have you had your machine, you're from USA aren't you?  We wouldn't know about the alarm turning off after 15 minutes because we would never let it go that long.  Depending on what you are cooking, even though the heat wouldn't be on during this extra time, the blade action would most certainly cause the food to turn to mush I would think.  Can you explain why you would not be close enough to turn the machine off when the beeping starts?

Hi Dean, on a couple of occassion's my TMX has been left on well past the 15 minute mark and it didn't turn off and the blades continued to turn. On each of these occasions I wasn't expecting to not be around at the end of cooking and from memory the food was overcooked and mushy  :-\. I don't think the TMX is intended to be left for longer periods of time unattended or to have a timer facility.

Welcome Dean. I've found that the timer usually drives someone mad and they have to come and turn it off. I don't really think the for should go any longer than you set it for as the cooking and stirring are very concentrated and as everyone has said you will get mush.
