I've found if you're not careful with baking soda, you can taste it in the finished product, and it's not very nice!

Thanks for sharing this Chookie, I recently made choc chip cookies for a birthday party and
it ended up a little like the first cookie in the picture...
Now I understand what went wrong :(
I need to make some cookies this week for day care, will use the soda tip :)

[/quoteyes I agree, but they are suggesting 1/4 teaspoon to a whole mixture.  I often put a bit into my scones but you have to be very careful or you can taste it.

Thank you Chookie. I love the pictures  and I will try adding baking powder and carb soda.

Thanks for this link Chookie. My chocolate chip 'cookies' always spread and end up flat so will try some baking soda next time. Will try to make a batch today.
