We had this for dinner tonight and it was delicious. I normally do my casseroles in the slow cooker to get tender meat and delicious flavors and I was surprised how well it came out in the thermomix.

Finally tried this tonight, as a pie. Very tasty. Thanks!

I loved this dish - I had plenty left over which I have in the freezer. Will definitely use this for a pie, yum!

Just wondering, what does the consistency of the meat turn out like? I have made a couple of casseroles/stews and the meat always turns out like tuna. I noticed it wasn't as bad when using chuck steak though but it still wasn't the consistency i'd normally like.

Hi Stoked, I notice you have been busy looking at recipes tonight and as a new member I'd like to welcome you to our forum. Why not pop over to the home page and post in Introduce Yourself and tell us a bit about yourself so that our members can welcome you into the fold.
I use blade steak for casseroles but chuck is good too. I cut the pieces 4 to 5cm square, if it is too small it will certainly disintegrate. Try the butterfly method I mentioned on another thread as well as this helps keep the meat in shape.

Thankyou for your tips Judy! Can't wait to try again. I have been feeling so disheartened!

Made this for dinner. Added 250 grams of kidney then when cooked made into pot pies. Brother here for dinner said it was the best steak and kidney he has had for a long time.
