chicken wonton soup-how to?
« on: October 07, 2009, 05:44:46 am »
I've got a recipe for a pretty simple chicken wonton soup. I've so far managed to make the wontons using the TMX. Now all I need to do is cook them in the soup.

The recipe says to bring stock to a simmer in a large pot, add wontons and simmer till cooked through. 3-4 minutes. What would be the best way to do this in the TMX?

Using what temp/speed etc? Would it be better to use the steamer basket for the wontons or perhaps the varoma dish? Help!

 ???

Hi Green,

I put wontons (veg.) into the greased Varoma dish and tray.

1.2l vegetable stock
2 garlic cloves
1 chili pepper
Sliced mushrooms ................ 18 Min / Varoma / speed 3/ :-:

Add 500ml hot vegetable stock and 1 bunch finely chopped BokChoy.
Turn wontons and cook another 5 minutes

Agreed - the varoma for steaming them

I did some that way http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=1708.0 and I'm sure somebody else did too.

Thanks for those great tips and links!  ;D

They tasted fantastic! I followed your instructions Tebasile. There are none left, so thats a good sign. We ate them with soy sauce as a starter rather than with the 'soup' because I added too much chilli.  >:(
So I think they'd be great with stir fry veggies as a light meal next time.

Yummo!
