Marshmallow
« on: November 13, 2009, 03:23:05 am »
Has anyone tried to make marshmallow in their thermomix.  I saw it being made on River Cottage on the ABC the other night which prompted me to look up the recipe.....and it looked like it would convert okay?  Any tips?  I've never made marshmallow the traditional way.

PS:  has anyone else notice the thermomix on 'River Cottage'.  I didn't but our 5 year old did....'look mummy they've got a thermomix'.

Yes, our DD saw it the other week and pointed it out.  I missed this weeks episode and only caught the end where they were eating the marshmallow. I have made it before and don't see why it wouldn't convert. If it starts to set in the bowl you could just heat it a bit. Possibly the butterfly would be best to aerate it.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

i wondered the same thing when i saw it on river cottage...i love river cottage and you can find his marshmallow recipe here

i didn't realize he had a tmx, if I hadn't already ordered one, I would have used the fact that Hugh has one as another part of my persuasive argument :-))
