My TMX is 110 regular current.  No problems.

And so... is your temperature in F or C?  And your weights in grams or ounces?

For some reason, I was thinking that the Canadian current was not 110.  ??? I must be on "overload" (a little pun).

The settings are in  C. and the weights in grams.

There are a lot of foodies who are interested but the company (Vorwerk) does not make it easy to get information and inquiries to the company home site often go unanswered or are simply replied to with a "Not available in the U.S."  or similar brushoff.

I was lucky in that someone directed me to the Canadian site and Helene referred me to Fantan Enterprise, the Canadian distributor.

It may also be because of a particular mind set that is common here.   It is the "impulse purchase" that many retailers count on.

Americans have such a wealth of appliances and gadgets to play with that they often want to see something in action and most are not into the "home party" type of demonstration, which is why Tupperware suffered a downturn in popularity as other and cheaper alternative became available.
A lot of people here want instant gratification and are more inclined to buy something they can see and touch in a store.  It is perhaps one reason that Vorwerk has not pursued marketing here.   Certainly there are plenty of people who could afford it and would benefit from it.  I have friends who are "snowbirds" and live in the southwest during the winter and in the northern climes during the summer, living in large motorhomes (40. ft monsters) or large trailer homes (caravans, I think you call them).  One family of three, a husband and wife my age and a middle-aged son, live in a 45 foot 5th wheel trailer that is pulled by a huge and very plush tractor rig (Semi-truck).   They have a big Kohler generator that produces enough electricity to power a/c, microwave, TV and any other appliance you could imagine.
They stopped in for a visit, on their way to Palm Desert, while I was awaiting delivered of my TMX and looked at the web sites and plan on visiting next spring, on their way back to Oregon, to see how it works in person.  All three are cooks and certainly I think would find this appliance very useful and handy in their small kitchen.
