Katya - We make a similar dish and cook pasta separately for about a minute less than it needs and then let the pasta cook in the peas/bacon for a minute or so to absorb some of the flavour.  We serve it with grated parmesan and it makes a nice supper dish so I think it's OK to have this in the mains section. This is my OH's speciality and he hasn't cooked it in the TMX yet - maybe I'll print off this recipe so he can try.

It is hard to know where to put this type of recipe fundj.  There should be a thread called "Side dishes', it can't go in vegetarian because of the bacon so really where you have put it, seems the only place suitable.

Dumb question- are these cooking times with frozen or fresh peas? Recipe sounds great though. Actually, does anyone have a good petit pois type recipe for the Thermomix ie using lettuce and peas as well as ham or bacon??

Could you just add some shredded lettuce towards the end of the cooking for this recipe here Merlin?

Thanks Judy, I was thinking of doing something like that. I found a Jamie Oliver recipe for petit pois  that I wanted to convert to the TM, but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. I was just being lazy and thought someone else might have tried something  like this already!!! The post about the peas and bacon just jogged my memory.

It’s not a dumb question I am the dumb one :-))

I use frozen peas, fresh peas would be great

Cut down on cooking times if using fresh peas
