I waited a year to save my coins for a thermomix.I had to get it from Canada because they can not be had here. Only had it about 2 weeks so I am a real newbie. My husband thinks it is great.  One of our friends said that I was the only person he knew that had one or was it that I was the only person he knew who would ever want one. Either way I am very happy to have it and looking forward to getting better at using it.

I now live in southern Calif. but back in the mid '50s I lived for a time in a small village in Wisconsin.  Campbellsport, about half-way between West Bend and Fon du Lac.   After high school I worked in my mom's bakery. 

I also got mine from Canada.   I have a lot of friends who think I am weird because I buy so many kitchen appliances for which they think I should have no need.   Age 70, no family, live alone, except for a housekeeper. 
However, I love to cook and bake and experiment with new recipes (and some very old ones).  And am having a lot of fun with my TMX, which I have named "Tuffy" because it has a lot of "attitude."

Hi Omie, welcome to the forum.   You may not have any friends with a TMX but you will find plenty of friends on this forum with whom you can chat , swap recipes and ask questions.   You will become the envy of your friends - they are so easy to impress with, as Cathy mentioned, ice-cream or as I do, daiquiris (they don't stop and think they could make these cocktails in their ordinary old blender too but not as fast as the TMX). Bread or rolls is another thing that impresses too.  Enjoy your TMX.

Hi Omie, welcome to the forum!  I have a friend in the USA who is hoping to buy a TMX from Canada too - I did a demo for her while she was here and she loved it.  Is it difficult to buy from Canada?  Do you have the same warranty?

You are not alone! There are many users in the US who are buying from Canada! There are even a few of us Canadians who own the machine...    though I believe we're greatly outnumbered by those in the USA.  Glad to have another North American on board to help spread the word. If you are enjoying Thermomix now, just wait till you get REALLY confident with it! Hard to believe, but it really does get to be even more fun over time.
