Belgian Waffle Recipe Anyone?
« on: April 14, 2010, 12:43:44 pm »
Hi all,

Hubby's dad is Belgian and grew up with "proper waffles" which are made with pearl sugar..
We have sourced the sugar (it goes in the recipe and when cooked gives the waffle a beautiful caramelised surface)  but I need a decent recipe - hubby is making one that takes HOURS to make!
I've done a search but want one for the TM if possible??

Thanks
Linda

I posted a very good waffle recipe called Waffles with coconut oil and flour,  on 20th. Feb,  this year.  Just replace the coconut oil and flour with plain flour and melted butter,  if you wish.

Thanks Chookie

I've got a great recipe that came with my waffle maker - very similar to yours,  was just trying to get an original Belgium one that utilises the pearl sugar.  Might try and tweak mine/yours and include the pearl sugar - looks like I've got homework.......

Linda, I googled 'recipe for making Belgium waffles with pearl sugar' and there is plenty there for you to read through. Recipezaar has one here http://www.recipezaar.com/158977 with reviews but you might prefer to read up on it and see if there is another one you prefer.
