Too true, Bonsai. Some forums can turn nasty. People argue and insist on their freedom of expression, blah, blah blah. But it leaves a bad taste in the mouth for everyone else.

What other cult has great food, friends, conversations and laughs.
They have no idea what they are missing out on.

I joined in Feb 2009. Hard to believe how in 5years how my life has changed for the better. New friendships, new ideas, new recipes  and so much fun without even leaving the house. So nice to always be connected to someone . Meeting  other member is such an added bonus. I can't wait  untill October to meet more of ya!

When I joined this forum cult (seriously???) way back in May 2011 I was very cautious about forums. DH loves to remind me that when he travelled to the other side of Sydney to meet some members in a musician's forum, I half jokingly told him it was a long way to go to meet a few potential axe murderers You can imagine his face when I told him I was meeting a bunch of tmx forum members in Adelaide . I have yet to soften him up for the Hobart trip.

Ditto to what has been said, love this forum and the things it/those part of it get me cooking. Know 100% I would not use my TM as much without you all. 

DH actually said last night "You make everything in the Thermomix now, where do you get all the ideas and recipes from?"  Glad he hasn't noticed all the time I spend on here!!

It is such a friendly and welcoming forum. I've been privileged to meet many forum members and Cookie who so generously showed me around W.A. when I was there 18 months ago. It was lovely to meet you too Cuilidh in Melbourne last year.

When I first got my tmx I was also told this forum was a cult and luckily I didn't take any notice. I tried to join a couple of times but did something wrong and my application went out into space (lol) but eventually had another go and here I am. I had never been on a forum before or even gone on Facebook so it was a big step.

I would never have made so many wonderful meals and cakes without this wonderful support so it seams that at my age I am a member of a 'cult'. I now realise that being on here and meeting people is no different to having a penfriend we were children.

I thought of this post yesterday when I heard a lady tell her son to "keep a civilized tongue in your head" ... civilized fingers on the keyboard sounds a bit funny tho!

I love this forum and it's members. I was gathered in from cyber space by Judy.  Didn't have a clue about TMX or computers.  Thermomixer posted my first conversions, as I didn't know how.  You have taught  me so much and all provided  some genuine entertainment as well as words of wisdom.   This Forum is now very much a part of my life.  Thank you all.

We had to haul you in Chookie, you were and still are a little gem 

How it all started was that Chookie sent me a pm which was obviously something she meant to post on the forum LOL.  I wrote back and told her how to post on the forum, saw her blog had some nice recipes on it for the Thermomix so asked Thermomixer's help in transferring them over to the forum as I wasn't that savvy with computers myself - talk about the blind leading the blind    We got there in the end, our computer skills have improved and what a great friendship grew out of that misguided posting of hers.

I can't imagine the forum without Chookie's knowledge of bread. I have learned so much. I would even go so far as to call myself proficient in most bread making.( even Gayle's SC loaf now)  I love SD, thanks to Chookie, it doesn't spook me anymore.
 
I think the proof of the wonders of the forum can be seen by the things we can make in our  thermomixes compared to friends/others who have a thermomix but don't use the forum.
