New Varoma Demo

I've booked a demo on Saturday with the new Varoma menu - it looks superb.
My consultant kindly sent me a list of everything I need to provide. My only comment, there is a lot on the list! Having already had the basic demo I understand that consultants would not want to provide everything due to the cost factor but the consultant gets all the benefits and the host gets nothing. Comment only of course!

lol if you only saw what we have to provide for the basic demo  and quite often for no benefits (comment only too) 

You are entitled to host rewards for holding a varoma demo just like the basicl

Personally I think it is mean of people to host a demo if they really have no intention of buying. I know a consultant who has said 'no' to Saturday night demos as she found she was providing the food etc and the host was really only holding a booze up, with no intention to  buy. A cheap way of feeding a few people.

I can see that happening Cookie, a nice get together with friends at the expense of a poor consultant. Hopefully consultants can soon pick the genuine people from those looking for a free meal. On the other hand, I think anyone that holds a demo should receive something for nothing - especially if they buy or someone else buys.

Cookie I think you are right there. At least this way if no one buys I don't feel bad that my consultant has been ripped off. I can see that some people would treat it as a free lunch so to speak. Having said that you host a demo with good intentions hoping that someone will buy but its hard to tell - the price tends to put my travel mad 30 something friends off!

I agree with both of you. If you a thinking of a machine have a demo by all means, even two if need be. Quite often people need to be sure, especially with that sort of money. One of my friends at my demo party is definitely buying one, she just has to wait for a bit.
Some young people at DD's work were thinking of buying one and I think she put them off. I told her to let them have a demo first and then if they are unsure to come round to our place one weekend. She will only use it for mixing drinks, crushing ice, pasta and rice. It seems to be flavour of the month with a lot of her friends, then it sits on the bench and eventually the cupboard. Very sad.

The best way to stop it being a free feed and a party is to ask the host to hold off serving alcohol until they are eating the food at the end of the demo  That way you at least have some sort of a chance

I do think that incentives could be a little better than "if someone buys at your demo" as we all know not many buy on the spot and I certainly don't advocate I put it to my guests that most people need to think and talk about spending nearly 2k with their partners at the very least - though show me your credit card and I will take it lol,

Think holding off on alcohol is a good idea.  Helped a friend do a couple of demos and the audience was having too much fun and not really listening.  Felt so sorry, I kept trying to get people focussed, but the wine and nibbles were taking over.
