Sherry vinegar
« on: July 01, 2013, 10:32:59 am »
Hello,
I am making the beef stroganoff from the EDC tonight. Two questions: where do you buy your sherry vinegar from (can't find it at Coles / woolies) and what could I use as a substitute. TIA

The correction sheet for the new EDC says to replace the sherry vinegar with white wine in this recipe.
The sherry vinegar is a mistake in the recipe.

You should be able to buy it at specialist deli's or continental type shops if your supermarket doesn't have it.

Hmmm... Correction sheet? Never heard of it and have only had my thermomix for a few weeks. Will look into it.
Thanks so much for that! 😄

You will find the amendments written in red here Kelinoz. Very remiss of your consultant to not pass this information onto you.

I use verjuice in place of white wine vinegar and sherry vinegar. Also white wine if I don't have a bottle open.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.
