Hi Everyone
« on: October 16, 2010, 09:36:28 pm »
Hi,
I am currently awaiting delivery of my Thermomix which is coming on Monday. Very excited, can't wait to start experimenting with it. Went to a demo in Cheltenham on Thursday night with Ben Axford from Masterchef and was very impressed with the speed and diversity of the Thermomix, I honestly believe that it will change my life where it comes to cooking. I am currently in the middle of a slimming world programme and have been suffering from boredom with the same old dishes etc The Thermomix will give sauces and soups etc a different dimension and hopefully will open up some exciting opportunities. Can't wait to read up on recipes that other users have developed and hopefully new ones that I can add too. Love curries and eastern cooking so hope to find some exciting recipes that I can try.
Look forward to corresponding with some of you in the future
regards
Jeff

Welcome Jeff.

You will love the Thermomix. It will change your life. I am originally from Cheltenham (Winchcombe).. Small world. Left in 1996 for the Portuguese weather and latin lifestyle :-)  I go back twice a year. Going this Xmas. Can't wait to have a Cotswold Christmas. Is Thermomix popular in Cheltenhamshire? I really hope it kicks off big time in UK.

Enjoy your time here. You'll meet the friendliest people.

Take care and please say hi to GLOS!!

Admin :-)

Hi Jeff, welcome to the world of Thermomix and this wonderful forum.  Sounds like you will be able to add to the variety of recipes we already have on here and hopefully will find plenty of recipes to help your diet boredom. The varoma all-in-one recipes from the cookbooks or forum are pretty good for diets but a word of warning - stay away from the dessert and cake section or you will put back on all that you have lost  :D :D  Have fun when it arrives.

Hi Jeff and welcome.
You will love your TMX it's great for soups and salads and other healthy Slimming world friendly meals.
Funnily enough speaking of Indian, I've spent the evening looking at curry recipes to convert and play around with.

Thanks to everyone for the friendly welcome and to the moderator for allowing me access to this wonderful forum. I certainly have got the impression that the UK is a long way behind the rest of Europe and Australia when it comes to the Thermomix. I was at Raymond Blanc's Le Manoir aux quat saison last week for a cookery course and was quite excited to see that they had a Thermomix in the cookery school....only to be told that they used it just as a blender! I really hope that the UK does embrace the Thermomix in the future because I have never seen a piece of equipment like it and am genuinely excited to start using it this week.

Jeff :)

Welcome Jeff - the TM will open up a whole new world of cooking to you. We hope you find this forum helpful and inspiring in your weight loss. I also look forward to trying out any converted recipes once you settle in as I could afford to lose a few kgs myself  :)

Mon dieu, sacre bleu. I was hoping you were going to say he was ana avid fan as one of his former pupils is here in Sydney, Justin North, and he doesn't use one!

Oh well.
