You should see what it does to candied cherries that have been stored too long. They look like they belong in a stained glass window.

Thanks heaps Andie. I often buy something out of the ordinary to make things and then have left overs that I forget about. Now I can soften them and eat or use.

I've made apple and vanilla muffins last week with a couple of tins of pie apple that were lurking in the back of my pantry.
