Losing weight will depend upon what you love cooking. I'm very gingerly putting my hand up admitting that my waistline has increased  ;D as I really enjoy cooking sweet things, but I agree with everything that has been previously said. I certainly use a lot of ingredients that pre-TM I never used, and it has opened up a whole new repertoire of recipes to enjoy. We rarely have take away now, or the same meal twice, as there are just too many healthy easy recipes to choose from.Just don't delay buying a machine cos its worth its weight in gold  :)

The biggest problem is at the start when you just can't help making heaps of food.  Once the initial stage settles then you will eat healthier foods.

I agree with what people have already said.  I have lost quite a lot of weight since getting the TMX but it's not just down to my getting the machine....

It is easy to lose weight with the TMX provided you have the will-power to avoid all the high-fat, or high-sugar recipes that are on here (and also provided you keep an eye on portion size - the food is so delicious you will want to eat more  ;)).   As others have said, you are much more in control of what you eat - I very rarely buy any processed foods now and so know how much fat, salt and sugar I'm consuming.

One reason people buy pre-prepared foods is for their convenience value.   With the Thermomix, it is so easy to prepare foods that you will probably find it easier and preferable to make your own.   For instance, last night we weren't very hungry (due to a fair amount of over-indulgence recently   :-[) so I rustled up a tomato sauce to have with pasta in less time than it took to cook the pasta and it was delicious.

Good luck with your purchase - and do think about getting the second bowl as it is cheaper if you buy it with the machine and makes things much easier.  Not essential by any means but a good thing if you can afford it.
