My TM isn't heating.
« on: March 05, 2011, 05:09:55 pm »
This afternoon I tried to use my TM to make a new recipe and when I tried to melt the butter with the sugar @50c the light came on but after a while the light went off.I tried again but no go it keeps going out.It won't heat to any temperature. The rest of the functions are fine, scales, speed, clock, turbo.Any thoughts to the problem???

Thanks Nik,I will phone UK Thermomix and see what they say.If necessary I will take my TM to them,it's only a hours drive.Fingers crossed that it won't take long to repair and it's not too costly.

Oh poor you CC - I do hope it's something simple to fix.    Is the machine still under guarantee?

I guess you can still make sorbets, although why you would want to in this weather is another matter  ;D ;D

I remember the time when my TM wouldn't heat up, but that was because i forgot to set the time. I wish your TM a speedy recovery.

Yes, that could be your problem CC.  Try again and make sure you set the time.  I just tried heating mine up @ 50o without entering any specific time and although it flashed for almost a minute, it then stopped flashing and was still stone cold.  Good pick up petit4s.

I'm one happy lady this morning my TM is working again.I can't tell you how relieved I am,I didn't realize until yesterday how my cooking relied on my machine,it was a very sobering thought. Thanks for your suggestions, maybe in my panic to get it to work I didn't set the time. :-)) Thanks for all of your support  :-* :-*
