over here the meat comes vac packed in bulk and alot of farms sell it... last time i got 12 kilos of beef in different cuts for 12 euros a kilo which is cheap or normal for here...next time im buying organic which suprisingly not much more...
id just shop around like you normally would and find the best deal youi can in your area

Yes Frozzie I am hopeless,LOL
I am going to order the lamb when we are back from hawaii.
My lamb tob nly has 2 items in it. Mind you i dont think 1whole lamb is going to fit nicely in my tub, so will have to look at reorganising a little bit more.

Hally the most we pay for a full beef, or 1/2 (side of beef) is $5.99 per kilo.
Its just the normal price for bulk.
It saves us $2000 per year when you buy beef, pork, lamb, fish, chicken in bulk, all the time.
we have 3 chest freezers, and 2 1/2 are full at the moment.

I have never heard of meat that cheap either even in bulk??? but I have never bought bulk in oz either
obbie are you getting it from a butcher or a wholesaler?? We used to pay nothing for our beef but it was our cows lol...and the payment for the butcher cutting it up in the proper cuts was giving him the bits we didnt want
you guys are lucky though as beef over here is super expensive, especially if bought at the butcher...first time i bought a fillet of beef, around 1kg piece it cost me over 50 euros...nearly fainted there and then in the butchers and that was 10 years ago lol
over here our bulk beef which is not a side of beef but usually in 10 to 15 kg boxes, vac packed in different cuts is 12 euros a kilo...if you shop around you will soon get an idea of price for bulk in oz

I buy from a local butcher.
We have 3 that we have used, in the last 10 years,
all the same price though, all within 20 minutes of here.
This time we got a side of beef for free from a friend, so we just payed the butcher the cut up / packing. $200.00 In 6 months we get another side for free too.

Sorry Wonder, I'm in Yungaburra.
which is 1 hour from Cairns. FNQ.
But if you go and ask your local butcher, they can give you a better deal than Coles/woolworths.
They can have it cut / packed to what you want.
just ask, and you will get a better deal.
