Best way to remove sticky food such as custard from the bowl
« on: October 26, 2011, 10:07:31 pm »
When I make lemon curd, a lot of it seems to end up on the sides of the bowl.  What's the best way to get most of it out?  Turn it upside down and scrape, or remove the bottom and push it through?  Are there any "tricks" that would be helpful?  It's frustrating to leave so much of it behind no matter how much I scrape the sides.

I know when i make tahini i follow it with humus
I wonder if you could make a lemon custard or you add some milk turbo and then freeze for later use for ice cream or smoothies

Running your TMX on  :-: for a few sec should help...but you'll still have to scrape off the side of the bowl.

I think you just get better at it. Also a thin spatula helps.

I pour in two or three cups of very hot water and turbo for 20 seconds, check inside and run it again for an additional ten seconds or more till it has completely liquified any remaining curd.

I hold a wadded up towel over the opening to keep hot water from splashing out.

I use a bendy half spatula. You do get better with practise too.

remove the blades then give it to the kids with a spatula?!
won't increase your yield but will keep them quiet for a while  :D
seriously, I like fundj's idea of using it for smoothies. or add some yogurt and have lemon yoghurt? or a lemon custard?
