Any forum members from Coffs Harbour?

Hi! We are going up to Coffs Harbour for the cup weekend in November and staying at Aanuka Beach Resort. When I booked the holiday a little while ago the majority of reviews on trip advisor and else where were overall positive. I've now had to pay the remainder of our account and when looking at newer reviews they all seem negative, I'm a little worried it's going to be a bad experience. Also I'm wanting an indication of if there are any places within walking distance of the hotel to eat, pretty much all reviews, new and all gave terrible accounts of the hotel bar and restaurant. We were hoping not to have to hire a car but if we need walk too far for decent food I'll just get a car.

Wonder, don't let that deter you at this point in time. Most people who ever take the time to give guest feedback are those who have something negative to say. Most of them are just very hard to please people whose standard of living just rises when they leave home. Go there, have a ball, do lots of things, have a few vino's, and at the end of the day collapse in a happy heap in bed.

If there is something wrong with the resort, state very nicely to the resort people what the problem is, and I am sure they will bend over backwards to help you. Its amazing how magic can happen when people are nice.

As CP says, just before we went to Borneo earlier in the year, I nearly changed hotels because of what I read on trip adviser, 99% was negative. The resort we stayed at was lovely. Shame they are so many negative people in this word.

i think those sites are useful if you know what to look for...i have found them quite good in general and the only time i worry about a hotel etc is if the negative comments are repetatory ...if the same comment keeps coming back imo its the hotel and not complaining guests with high standards...not all places have alot of negative comments...i know quite a few who have a majority of positive comments...but yes depends on the person and their standards....im sure you will enjoy your trip and will be intersting to see if the comments were true or just people whinging?
