Chia seeds in bread????
« on: October 19, 2011, 05:57:48 am »
Sorry I seem to have all these questions today.
If I put chia seeds into my bread do I need to soak them first or can I just put them in like sunflower and linseeds?
Thanks.

Cookie, better health benefits if you soak and use the gel that it makes as well as the seed.
Sound like I know it all but haven't done it yet just read it.

soaking is better for your health, also if you don't soak, they tend to suck up the moisture in what you make. Chelsea has a good post on her blog  :-*

:-* :-* :-* :-* to you all. I was concerned that if I didn't soak them they would suck moisture out of the bread. Thanks.

If I don't soak them, I add an extra amount of water - double the amount of seeds. ie. 40g water for 20g seeds.
