reducing recipe
« on: January 14, 2012, 10:58:51 am »
Hi, I have had my tmx (thelma) for 2 years now and wouldn't be without her, but we are now down to just hubby and I and I am finding some of the recipes are too big and I would like some help in how to reduce recipe sizes to 2 people?  i.e. do you halve ingredients and cooking time?  cooking rice/pasta do you halve the the ingredients and liquid and time?  I know I can freeze any extra but as we plan to travel in our caravan later this year I would like some recipes that suit 2 people.  Thanks

Rainbow, to halve a recipe, cut processing time or cooking time by 20%.  For pasta or rice, I just cook the amount that suits me but keep the same amount of water and cooking time as fundj said.
