My new best friend in the kitchen (and no it's not another TM)
« on: January 15, 2012, 02:35:28 am »
I got a new (secondhand) massive sharp convection microwave for Christmas and I'm loving it. It is so much better than my oven. I have had so much success cooking everything like cakes, sponges, slices, biscuits and bread rolls. I havnt tried to make a loaf of bread as yet but that's certainly one of the next things on my list.
Just had to share my excitement with all my Forum buddies (although I havnt been around much lately I am still here)

My last microwave was 16litres where this one is 41.5 litres so it is huge compared to what I am used to.

Hey Mandi, wondering where you had got to.  So happy for you, if anyone needed a decent oven it was you  :-*

Yes true Judy. I think I have done my fair share of complaining about my oven in the last year. I have had my TM for 1 whole year now (13th Jan) and still really love using it. Now I have my convection microwave just makes everything so much easier. I think I'm set up now. Thermie on one side and the microwave on the other. I have already decided that if the microwave decides to die on my I would Definitly be buying a new one.

I will keep you posted how I go with the bread. Just got to find the right size tin.

You will really get into the cooking mode now.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Yes cookie1 your right, although I have bearly stopped since owning a TM , I have slowed down while the kids are on school holidays but now my DH and my DS (who recently got an apprentiship) are both at work I had a big cook up this weekend so they have plenty of choose from. Now I have the convection microwave I feel more confident that the baking side of my cooking will be a success as well.

I had a Sharp Convection Microwave and it was just brilliant! When I remodelled the kitchen there was no room for it, so I sold it to my sister. She uses it all the time and loves it.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.
