Help please from Apple users
« on: February 12, 2012, 05:00:37 am »
I went to the apple store & did a basic workshop.

I forgot to ask how to take photos on the laptop. I seem to be able to take photos looking at me, my ipad flips to take photos away frm me. Does the laptop do this & how?

Thanks

H :)

Hally it is a program/app called photo booth and the camera is in the top above the screen so you don't need to turn it away from you. Hope this helps... someone else may be able to describe it a little better  ;)

the camera on the laptop is just a normal webcam - it only takes photos of you because you are normally sitting in front it. If you lift up the laptop and aim the camera at the food it will take a pic of the food.

I have an iPhone and use Photo Stream / iCloud so just take the photo on my iPhone and it automatically ends up in my iPhoto library. If you have an iPhone this is the easiest way to do it. There are probably other ways to use another phone and have it integrate with Photostream and iPhoto but I'm not sure about them.

Hope this helps a bit

Actually Hally you said you have an iPad - if you turn on photo stream and enable it for iCloud any photo you take with your iPad will end up in the photo stream folder in iPhoto.

If you need the pics on your laptop it's probably easiest to use this method to take photos of food...if you need help setting this up feel free to shout and I can give you the step buy step instructions (I don't have an iPad but I'm sure its pretty similar in setting up as the iPhone)

Hi Hally, do you use tapatalk for you iPad? Cause you can add photos directly to the forum through tapatalk. I have the iPad (first gen) and has no camera but because I have an iPhone and use iCloud all the photos from my iPhone are transferred to my iPad. Or I can add photos directly from the iPhone.
Hope that helps.

I can't remember the price. I thought it was free but maybe not

Easy to add photos, just go to open advanced options and select the photo you want to add when writing a post.
