Hi Jacqui, welcome to the forum.  Are you the only person on the island with a Thermomix, bet you are ;)  How easy is it for you to get the ingredients you need in PNG?

Welcome to the forum Jacqui!  I'm also curious to hear what kind of ingredients you can use being in PNG... :)  I had friends living there and they had to substitute ingredients for others and adapt quite a few recipes.

Hi Jacqui, it's great having a friend on the island who also has a thermomix, it's nice to be able to share and compare different recipes and also make restaurant quality food without the expense of going to one and besides there are none here!!!

Welcome Jacqui. Do you have lots of tropical fruits available to you?

Welcome Jacqui, I'm sure we would all love to know where you located from, and what is it like to live where you are now.

Thanks you for your messages!

I have a friend on the island Lindsay who also has a thermomix! We both have relocated from Perth, Mullaloo. It's great having a fellow thermomixer on the island and even more so because we are friends.

I am loving my thermomix & said just this week that it has been one of my best investments.

Just this morning Lindsay & I took a drive to find some fruit & found paw paws, pineapples & eating bananas. You would think that it would be in abundance but it's not...

With regards to ingredients you can generally find everything,  ;) it may be expired, have weevils etc. You cannot be fussy & when you see something buy it as it may not be around for a few months. Alternative googling is common  ;D.

We do have options to purchase & have goodies shipped from Aus which I have not done yet. Standard on my list is nuts in bulk, sesame seeds, linseeds, chocolates  :).

We don't have a wide variety but generally freeze quite a bit  when it's in for use later. The deli attached to the social club gets in a small variety of fresh fruits & veg, flown in weekly on the company charter plane.

Looking forward to all the recipes & tips to come!

Jacqui

Hi Jacqui, lovely to have you on the forum. I thought PNG might have been like Cairns with an abundance of tropical fruits. Interesting to get a glimpse of another lifestyle.
