I'm new!
« on: May 08, 2009, 10:21:47 am »
Hello Everyone,

I'm janecee from West Sussex UK and have had my TM31 for about 6 weeks and could not be more delighted with it as it has completely revitalised my approach to cooking which has become such fun.

I am finding the forum fascinating and interesting.  I knew about the TM way back in the 1970s but didn't indulge in one.  The TM31 would appear to be a great deal more versatile and the engineering and design are truly impressive.

I appreciate the warm welcome and will look forward to sharing ideas and information through the forum.

Welcome Jane! I hope you enjoy it here.

Fancy knowing about the TM in the 70s - I didn't even know about it in February!

Welcome Janecee, I am originally a London girl, but moved overseas (mainland Spain) in my spring chicken days, and have been here ever since, many moons ago (over 20 years now!)
Have had my THX since January 4th, and havent stopped, not a day has gone by that I haven't used it for something or other. The best investment I have ever made, am now trying to sort out how to hide the new jug from my DH already, as he is sooooooo jealous of my THX, can you imagine when he sees 2 of them!!! O M G! :o :o :o

I experienced just over half of the 70s... in a rather limited capacity I must admit  :D

Thank you everyone for your warm and enthusiastic response!  I'm beginning to feel sort of smug at being one of a rather special group of people!  May I be forgiven!

When I get/do a new recipe of which I am confident I will of course be delighted to share it.  At the moment I am rather going by the book.  I have put a recipe for low carbohydrate bread on the bread forum but I suspect that there will not be many to whom it will be relevant.  I wonder is there anyone out there with a TM who is 'low carbing'?

Very best wishes to all,

janecee

PS   to Rowyfo I think it was who said 'may be you weren't even born in the 70s'  Lovely idea but the truth is I am in my 70s!

How lovely to read your age Janecee, you go girl! I agree, we could have done with them when we were younger and doing more entertaining but we have it now and it inspires us to keep on cooking.  I'm 62 and only 3 years ago bought a table big enough for 10 people to sit around - could have done with that 20 years ago too.   These days we only have one couple at a time for dinner (unless it is Christmas or birthdays etc) but the TMX is perfect for cooking a meal for 4 people so that works out well.  Most people our ages give up on cooking and just can't be bothered but we have a renewed interest and should be able to go on now for many years to come.

jane, i am interested in low GI stuff but unfortunately it's mostly for my coeliac 3yo so a recipe containing a quantity of gluten is definitely out!!! lol! but i was interested to see it anyway, and you never know who might use it without even telling ;)

Of course - we all know how special we are - so join the club!!!  ;) ;) ;D

Any comments on the recipes from the books or those here are also appreciated - ta.

Way to go - lovely to see age is not a barrier.  Well done - need a clapping hands emoticon like in Italian site.
