Carl Vinson here in Perth
« on: April 24, 2012, 10:24:38 am »
Every year I have said I will organise for a couple of sailors to come to dinner.

People do this all the time.

I dont know how, does anyone know??

Would love to cook some yummy TM food for them.

I don't know about sailors but my friends became a 'mentor' couple to some American uni students studying here. Fab idea so the students feel a little more at home...they would invite them for dinner every now and than and generally keep in touch. These students have now become such good friends with my friends that they recently went to the student's wedding in the USA.

Hally, Next time contact the Australian American Association - or maybe join up now and they will contact you when an American boat comes in.  http://www.aaawa.com.au/

I'm sure they would love it Hally.  Are you sure DH and DS will be home if you are checking out six packs? :D :D

Hally, a roast would be lovely. I don't think it would matter what you made though as you are such a good cook.
It's your warm hospitality they will appreciate most.

You will probably learn a lot about USA and them about Australia.
