My DH is the same his favourite meal is banger, mash and gravy he hates curry or flavour.
With this colder weather and I work until 7pm 4 nights a week I use the slow cooker I set it on a timer one I bought and plug in the wall.
Monday forequarter lamb chops ($10 a kilo) with a tin of tomatoes an onion, garlic and secret ingredient Worcestershire Sauce (you can make in TM) slow cook 5 hours TM steam veggies
Tuesday slow cooked turkey drumsticks $6 - brown onion in TM add a can of apricots and stock consentrate(TM) blitz then pour over turkey slow cook 5 hours served with rice cooked in TM
Wednesday corned meat  was $8 a kilo - steamed veggies in TM and white sauce in TM
Thursday slow cooked Sweet and Sour Pork Chops - tin pinapple, carrots, onion, vinegar TM rice
Rice is not DH's favourite sometimes he will do Mash instead.
So nice to walk in the door after a long day and the smell of tea wafting out the door and all for around $10 or less
next week slow cooker menu plan is a little lamb roast, chicken pieces, slow cooked rissoles ( I make in TM brown them and then freeze ready to use) and sausage casserole - so easy and I am still using my TM for every meal
He takes boiled fruit cake made in TM and ham sandwiches with relish made in TM every day for lunch.
Good luck

berringamababe has some great ideas.

I've been steaming the meat that I cook in a ziplock or vacuum pack bag with a marinade, then flash frying. Absolutely divine! Vegies can be done in TMX while meat is resting.

Men seem to like pies, so why not encase some of that slop in a nice pastry?  ;D
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

DH is pretty easy to feed, he will eat just about anything except pork.  Loves casseroles, stews, roasts & any vegetable. Pasta in moderation.

We regularly have a camp fire roast in the bush at DS house.  He loves that.  No need to dress up :D just come as you are.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

Sounds good MJ. Do you steam in the varoma and then quickly brown on the stove top?

Yep! I use a sauce which is a mix of BBQ, Tomato, Worcestershire and Soy. Absolutely delicious, just flash fry for about 30 seconds each side for medium rare. It can sit around in the bag for a while after steaming, so you can put veggies in Thermoserver and make a sauce in bowl or cook more veggies if needed.  Steamed Steak

Some great ideas here Joon.  As tactless as your "H" was, in one way I kind of agree with him.  I am careful not to plan too many tmx stew/curry/risotto/soup dishes a week, as although I find them tasty, I get sick of sloppy too!  Pies are a great solution, I find, also the kievs and other dishes suggested and steamed fish are great. I also tend to prepare a tmx side (we really like Farfallinas ratoutoille crumble, or Judy Dawn's pasta and cauliflower bake, for example) and serve it with a piece whole of chicken or a steak once or twice a week. That helps me out because I'm also cooking for a vegetarian. Or I might make some tmx stir fried veg and serve that with a piece of marinated chicken.  It's not hard to set tmx to work making an interesting veggie or potato dish and whack a piece of protein in a grill pan.  Another suggestion is a recipe I recently posted for giant meatballs.  The ingredients for the meatball mixture is prepared with the help of the tmx, then mixed by hand and baked in the oven while the sauce is prepared in the tmx.  My husband and 6ft tall 13 year old son loved them!
