Harris Farm Markets often has 10kg for $10. It's good if you have a big family. I have to peel, par boil and freeze with that many.

They were not small portions, it was a good chicken for its size.
We all had seconds of quirky Jo's recipe and I have a Pyrex dish full to heat tonight.

Between the 3 of us we would  nearly eat a whole chicken, then there woukd be enough for cps sandwiches for 1 or 2 days and thats it.

Mine are around 1.5kg free range mt barker chickens.

I'm with you Hally, we aren't big eaters but I think our meat portions are quite large.

I have maybe cut the meat rations a bit since things changed. But still good portions.

I posted this because even I was amazed.

That chicken deserves. Medal you did good DJ.  When you have lots of veggies and a slice of bread  and leave room for the pie you don,t need a big portion of protein.  Really we should all eat less meat  and more veg.
