It's so hard trying to do things on your own Michele, I do hope DH gets home soon to help you.   Please be careful climbing the ladder and I hope things don't get too much worse and that the birthday bash goes off well for you.  Happy birthday to your DH.   :-* :-*

And to think I have been whining about the drizzle that we are getting....I hope everyone on the west coast is safe and dry.  You are all in my thoughts.

Finally got power back on after 26ish hours but for how long I am not sure, made sure we all had hot showers and are set if it goes out again.  Apparently the worst is to come, fingers crossed for us sandgropers.

Hi to people in WA, NSW and Victoria,

I hope everyone is well and not too much affected by the recent wild weather you have been having.

Best wishes to all  :)

I'm almost embarrassed to say this, but in Guildford we had stunning weather all weekend.  Froze each night, but beautiful mostly cloud free days on all three days.  Had a huge bonfire to get rid of all the prunings from the summer / autumn, then started a new pile of our winter rose prunings the next day!

The weather in Perth sounds fierce and all that rain in NSW .... it's hard to believe we were all in drought just a couple of years ago.

Oh my!!  a bonfire!!!!!  We used to love these, especially around "cracker night" . . . . you daren't even think about having a bonfire now in NSW . . . you'd cop a very hefty fine and be totally drummed out of the Brownies. There's no "backyard burning" allowed at all.  :-))You can't even buy fireworks here anymore - but I believe you can in the ACT . . .go figure!!

They were the days GF - I remember them well.  The same rules apply here in Sth Australia but as far as buying crackers is concerned, people are somehow getting their hands on them as you often hear them going around the streets at night and letting a few off.  I know where I'd like to place one  ;)

Yes, I heard about the weather in WA when we were driving home from a fantastic time on the York Peninsula in SA. We had calm days and cool nights for the long weekend. We built a bonfire on the beach both nights and it was amazing. We could hear the waves lapping on the shore, and when we looked up, the night sky was breathtaking. The milky way was really dense and there were so many stars visible. The kids toasted marshmallows amd we cooked potatoes in the fire. It made me realise how lucky we are, but i really feel for all the people in WA battling the harsh conditions. I hope you all stay safe.

Hope everyone is staying safe in WA. Weather on the Lake today has eased off.
DH had a lovely birthday celebration and we only got some moderate water damage in the granny flat.

Here comes the storm... :-[

By tomorrow I might have to add "severe storms" to the list of things I am terrified of! We'll see how we go tonight :-\
