Demo question
« on: June 13, 2012, 08:13:42 am »
I posted in the question section but had no answers. Sorry topmost again but need to book place if going.

Has anyone been to a Dani Valent demo  to promote her new book and is it good value?
Quite a way to travel for me, so,high fuel costs but can sort of tie itin with something else the day before.

Also is the book In the mix worth having?

thanks so much
DJ

Sorry no-one has answered your query DJ.  Have you seen this review thread of In the Mix? Here's an index of the recipes from this book - those underlined on this list will take you to the recipe.  As you can see from the index list and the review list, there have not been too many recipes done from this book.

It looks as if you may have to do a bit of reading and make up your own mind regarding the worthiness of the class or the cookbook. I bought the book for a friend in the UK but it was not something I wanted for myself.

Hi DJ . . would this blog help?  This very ambitious person's aim is to cook the book from cover to cover!! :o

There are even some recipes included . . have a look - the reviews of the recipes might help you to decide. :D

I haven't seen the book myself but someone I know has it & she said most of the recipes are a bit "ambitious" for her. Sounds like it is more 'dinner party' than everyday cooking, which doesn't interest me, but may be of use to you DJ.

Droverjess. I went to the Newcastle (Australia) demo. It cost me $80.00 which is a lot of money.
I loved the demo. You will love Dani, it was very informal, hands on (she invites you up to participate).
Ask questions throughout at any time. A little disappointed at the the tastings (this could just be the demo I attended) I would have gone back for seconds but they whisked them away very quick smart.

Thanks all.

I read through and decided as I have to drive home from something else that morning that I  will go. I just need to drive a different way, but i do  ot have additional fuel costs. The ticket is £30.00. I might learn a few things and I can decide if I want the book on my Xmas list.

I too mostly fling food on table. Too much else to do, but I do love baking.

Easier to show her how I fling it on the ceiling!
